Torphin Quarry Landfill Torphin is a landfill for inert material only and is situated in a disused limestone quarry. Remaining capacity is some 0.5M m3. Principal elements of inert material received at Torphin are soils, aggregate and demolition wastes. Inert materials do not give rise to leachate or landfill gas and so Torphin does not require to be engineered for containment of water or gas. |
