A 15 turbine wind energy development will be starting construction during 2008. the operator will be PI Renewable’s Ltd and the windfarm will generate sufficient electricity to power 16,000 homes. As part of this development a number of initiatives are being taken to improve the landscape and enhance upland habitats and ecosystems |

As a company we believe in protecting the Environment we work in, to this end we have initiated various projects to minimise our environmental impact; · Installation of a 300Kw biomass boiler to replace a diesel heating unit. · Installation of windmills to provide aeration of our treatment lagoons. · The commissioning of a generation plant to create electricity from landfill gas. · Use of recycled glass as a filter medium. |

In conjunction with the creation of a wind farm, Levenseat Ltd will also be taking steps to improve local biodiversity and infrastructure, this will include activities such as tree planting and hedge creation, along with road surface improvement. |

From the 30th of October 2007 all non-hazardous waste must be treated before it can be landfilled, this stems from the Landfill Directive and aims to maximise recycling, click here for further information. At Levenseat we have a fully functional pre-treatment facility and process which will meet all requirements of this legislation. |
