Text Box: The Levenseat Trust The Levenseat Trust is a charitable body which is funded principally by donations from Levenseat Ltd through the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme. It supports projects within an area including Fauldhouse, Longridge, Addiewell, Stoneyburn, Breich, Wilsontown, Forth Auchengray and Braehead. To find out the types of project which it supports, visit the Trust’s website: levenseattrust.co.uk Community Liaison Group At Levenseat we are keen to be open and available to local people who are interested in knowing more about what we do. To assist this we have a Community Liaison Group which comprises a small group of interested local people who meet regularly to learn about developments at Levenseat and to give us their views on how our operations impact on local communities. The Group has no formal powers and its membership is appointed informally. In practice we are keen that the group should represent different communities and a broad range of opinion. All we ask is that members should be willing to listen to different points of view and to express their own views in a straightforward manner. The group meets 2 times per year, usually in the evening for up to 2 hours. Liaison with Schools and Colleges At Levenseat we are always pleased to hear from schools and colleges who may be interested in finding out about what we do. We believe that our operations represent a valuable educational resource, which allows students to: Find out about how waste is dealt with – recycling and landfill See practical applications which are founded in geology (landfill engineering), physics (electricity generation from landfill gas), chemistry (composting, waste water treatment) Learn about environmental protection Contact us to discuss what we could offer you or your organisation
