Levenseat Ltd, based between Fauldhouse and Forth, are holding an Open day on 17th September to showcase their new Waste Treatment Facility to the public. Over 100 construction workers are currently employed on this project, the most advanced of its kind in Scotland.
This Open Day marks the launch of the first stage of Levenseat’s campaign to recruit for up to 50 permanent posts at their site in West Lothian.
The event will showcase the various roles currently available as well as future opportunities. In total around 50 posts will be created at Levenseat, with jobs ranging from Administrative posts, Plant Operators, Engineers, Supervisors and Maintenance Staff.
Angus Hamilton, Managing Director, explains: “Our new Waste Treatment Facility is an important part of Levenseat’s ongoing plan to provide the most innovative and economical solutions to managing waste. We are looking for dedicated and passionate people to join the Levenseat Team. The first phase should be operating by December 2016 with full production by July 2017.”
The new facility consists of an advanced Materials Recycling Facility ( MRF) and a Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP). The MRF will use state of the art automated technology to recover high levels of recyclates such as wood, cardboard, metals, plastics and paper. It is also designed to produce a fuel from the left-over residual waste which will be fed into the CHP. The CHP will convert the waste into a partially renewable energy and contribute to Scotland’s renewable energy targets.
Between the hours of 10.00 hrs and 14.00 hrs small tours, for groups of up to 8 people at a time, attending the Open Day on 17th September will benefit from seeing how domestic and commercial waste will be sorted using the latest technology. To avoid disappointment or long queues, Levenseat recommends booking in advance.

Information will also be available on the Levenseat Trust and how community groups can apply for funding through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund.
